Lebanese President Joseph Aoun’s words today, in which he described direct negotiations and normalisation with the Israeli occupation state as “not treason” and aimed to end the war, were not surprising. According to him, the “traitor” is “Hezbollah” (without naming it), “which dragged the country into it to achieve foreign interests.”
This is the first time we, the sons of Arab and Islamic nations, have heard since the dawn of history that humiliating and dishonourable submission to the adversary is the pinnacle of valour, and that resisting and confronting his aggression and occupation is the pinnacle of treachery.
